Wonderful experience! It was a shame the Night watch was covered by the scanner at the time of my visit, but the museum hosts wonderful pieces by so many esteemed artists.
Patience is a virtue and if you plan to visit this museum only once in a lifetime, allocate at least half day to enjoy every room thoroughly. Mind that other visitors might admire certain famous works for few minutes , so it’s wise to allocate enough time if you are planning to explore freely every room.
I highly recommend downloading the museum’s app and learn about various artists, their lives and the stories behind their works.
It’s busy around opening and closing hours. I got there at 11:00 and left at 17:00 and around 14-15:00, there were not that many visitors.

Definitely buy tickets in advance, if you can. We got there just before it opened and had the Vermeer and Rembrandt section almost to ourselves for 20 minutes. After that, it was very crowded but so worth it. I love Vermeer so this huge museum which included a lot of Dutch Naval history, is amazing. This museum is a must see when visiting Amsterdam!

We had an enjoyable self tour of the museum using our phone to download our desired route and audio. Very crowded in certain places as you would expect during holidays. Many staff to help guide you. Recommend you book tickets ahead on line.

Absolutely loved it. Tickets were easy to order with QR codes at the door, the tour was also easily accessible via a QR code that downloaded an app. I would recommend bringing your own headphones/earphones to listen to the tour (else you would have to rent a headset and audio guide). All artwork was properly honored and given spotlight to.

This museum is so impressive in so many ways. It is beautifully designed. There’s so much to learn and see. Every single room is amazing and unique, packed with an incredible collection of Dutch history and art. You could spend a whole day inside. Be sure to buy tickets in advance.

The museum is majestic. It’s beautifully designed, with a unique intertwining of modern and classic architecture.

The interior is amazing. Demarcations, design, and accessibility have been well coordinated for a beautiful experience.

The art speaks for itself though. One of the best collections of art in the world, by some of the greatest artists ever. Overall, it’s a beautiful experience.

An exceptional museum.

Tram 5 best for us

Well laid out easy to navigate.

Cheaper to download app book on line and choose a time slot.

No great wait to enter.

Two issues to be to be aware of their painting The Night Watch is undergoing restoration and is partly obscured by equipment monitoring vibration. Essential I know but lessens impact of the painting

Secondly if you need lift to access the floors there are only two and there can be a queue.

Cafe/restaurant is very nice limited vegetarian menu but is okay.

10% off in the gift shop when you have downloaded their app.

But a must when you visit.

No matter how many times I visit the museum, I am always impressed by beautiful paintings. If you get tired, you can take a break in front of the stained glass or take a break at the cafe near the entrance. There is a lot of greenery around the museum, and it feels good.
